We take great pride in the level of service we provide to the people of Butte County, and we hope you find what you need on our website. If not, please don't hesitate to call any of our branches or send an email for assistance.

Originally established in the Butte County Charter in 1913, the Butte County Library system today consists of six branch libraries and a literacy program. Headquartered in the Oroville Branch Library, the Library also serves residents through branches in Chico, Paradise, Gridley, Durham and Biggs.

The mission of the Butte County Library is to provide all individuals, regardless of age, ethnic background, educational or economic level, with free access to ideas, information, and technology.
