 - Investigators assist Deputy District Attorneys with the preparation of cases for trial.

 - Investigators identify and locate witnesses, victims and suspects.

 - Investigators serve subpoenas, search warrants,  arrest warrants and locate evidence.

 - Investigators frequently assist local law enforcement agencies with the initial investigation of homicides.
 - Investigators assist Deputy District Attorneys with the preparation of murder cases for trial.

 - Investigators participate in the Butte County Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Team.

Sheriff's Special Enforcement Unit                           (530) 538-7389

 - Sherriff's Special Enforcement Unit is tasked with investigating the unlawful cultivation of Marijuana and

   verifying and regulating the use of Medical Marijuana.

 - An Investigator assigned to the Major Crimes Unit is detailed to the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Unit.

 - BINTF is tasked with the investigation of manufacture and sales of illegal drugs.
