Introduction to Immunization

LOVE THEM * PROTECT THEM * IMMUNIZE THEM!

Vaccines or “shots” have been available in the United States since the 1950’s. Immunization programs throughout the country have made great strides in reducing the rate of vaccine preventable diseases by immunizing children. A Butte County Public Health Department goal is to improve access to immunizations, so that your child receives all of the vaccine doses she needs to protect her from serious illness. Contact your private doctor, community or public health clinic to be sure that you and your children are fully immunized. When you are protected, the community is protected. You are contributing to “Community Immunity”.
